News: Flood protection news: Flood protection work by the Lippeverband
25. Mar 2024
New basin improves flood protection on the Hoppeibach - work by the Lippeverband starts around Easter and lasts until the end of the year.
The Lippeverband is further strengthening flood protection on the Hoppeibach in Hamm. With investments of around 1.3 million euros, borne by RAG due to mining-related restoration work, further work is being carried out on the flood retention basin near the Deutzholz road. The main objective is the construction of a throttle structure. The basin has a volume of 35,000 cubic metres and offers protection against extreme flooding. During the construction period, the surrounding footpaths, cycle paths and hiking trails will be closed. The Lippeverband asks for your understanding for the temporary restrictions.
