During the past winter semester, HKC worked together with students from the ecosign Academy for Sustainable Design on the project “Land Under Water – Climate Adaptation Right at Our Doorstep”, developing innovative concepts to improve risk communication. Working in small groups, the students intensively explored how people can be made more aware of and engaged in flood preparedness.
The result: well-thought-out, creative, and practice-oriented ideas whose quality truly impressed us. In particular, the concept “Better Quick-Check” stood out and is now being further developed and implemented in collaboration with the students.
Projects like this vividly demonstrate the potential that young, creative minds bring to flood preparedness and climate adaptation—and how valuable collaboration between science, practice, and design can be.
