Extreme flooding is becoming more and more frequent in Germany - experts are warning of new disasters and urgently calling for precautionary measures.
Floods threaten Germany's economic and social development. Over the past 20 years, several flood disasters have caused severe damage and claimed lives. Due to climate change, such extreme events are becoming more frequent and more intense. Experts expect at least one more severe flood in the next legislative period.
