News: HKC awarded the Erftverband's "Zukunftspreis"
07. Nov 2022

Last week, the Erftverband awarded its Future Prize for the tenth time. The HKC is very pleased to be able to accept this socially important prize. The award was presented to Georg Johann, Jutta Lenz and Reinhard Vogt on behalf of the HKC staff.
The prize recognizes initiatives in nature, landscape or climate protection, innovative contributions to economy and environmental technology - especially in connection with water and water protection - as well as social commitment and cultural-artistic projects. The prize is aimed in particular at people and institutions that are ecologically, economically or socio-culturally committed, i.e. future-oriented and sustainable. Due to the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 celebrations, the prize, which is endowed with 1000 euros, went to three winners this Friday:
- to the staff of the Flood Competence Centre (HKC) in the field of prevention and risk reduction against floods and heavy rain;
- to the uTe women of the Unternehmerinnen Treff Erftstadt in the social-cultural field for their future-oriented educational formats and
- the students of the project course "Structural change in the Rhenish mining area" of the Käthe-Kollwitz-Gesamtschule Grevenbroich.
